CHET Robotics & Coding Class

Fall Semester 2024

Ages 8-13

Meeting Tuesdays, 8:30 - 10:00

Class Tuition: $350; partial payments made monthly

This is an introductory class to robotics and coding for kids ages 8-13. We'll start the semester with an intro to robotics and learn to build using:

• dc motors

• gears

• switches

• batteries

• mainboard (Arduino)

• wired and wireless controllers

• IR sensors

• servo motors

Each week, the students will build, play and customize a different robot. All of the lessons are designed with a game or challenge to allow the students to test the bots and experiment with customizations.

After completing 10 robotics lessons, we'll then move on to coding. Students wil build and code a robot to complete a different activity each week. We'll be using a language based on Scratch and will learn:

• sequencing

• IF/THEN statements

• Loops
